Cultural Events and Art Exhibits in Collier County for October 7–14
Collier County residents and visitors face a packed cultural calendar this week, featuring rare art exhibitions, touring theatrical productions, and seasonal family events across Naples, Marco Island, and Fort Myers.
The week’s visual arts slate is anchored by the Naples Art Institute, which is preparing to host a rare exhibition of Rembrandt etchings. Titled Rembrandt: Masterpieces in Black and White—Prints from the Rembrandt House Museum, the show opens October 10 and runs through January 27. The venue serves as one of only three U.S. locations to feature the collection, which encompasses Biblical narratives, portraits, landscapes, and everyday scenes highlighting the artist’s command of light, line, and emotion.
The Baker Museum Debuts Surrealism and Glass Collections
The Baker Museum at Artis—Naples launches major seasonal programming this month. Opening October 17 and running through February 14, The Surrealist International: Fifty Years of Dreams traces five decades of the movement through paintings, photographs, and sculptures by Salvador Dalí, René Magritte, and Joan Miró. Concurrently, visitors can view The Passion of Collecting: Stories in Glass and Ceramics from the Sibrack Collection through November 1, and Linling Lu: Fugue in 3 Voices through January 3. The museum’s permanent displays also highlight Linling Lu’s immersive abstract paintings alongside Hans Hofmann’s 1965 abstract expressionist painting Paling Moon.

Additional gallery spaces across the region feature specialized works. East West Fine Art in Naples presents Master of American Glass through October 16, showcasing Hayden Wilson’s sculptures that merge traditional Italian glassblowing with Murrine patterns. On Marco Island, the Marco Island Historical Museum hosts The Beauty of Florida’s Wild Side: On Land & Under the Sea, an exhibition of oil paintings by artist Inez Hudson that runs through October 31. The Naples Botanical Garden exhibits Historias del aire y del suelo/Stories of Air and Soil by Puerto Rican artist Pseudomero through October 25, while the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center Art Gallery displays Through the Light of the Estuary through October 29.
