CUCosta reports 97% attendance for PAA 2027-A admission exam

November 8, 2026 Alex Carter - Sports Editor Sport

The Centro Universitario de la Costa (CUCosta) reported a 97 percent attendance rate for the Prueba de Aptitud Académica 2027-A held this Saturday, November 7, 2026. Out of mil 079 candidates summoned to the Puerto Vallarta campus, mil 043 arrived to complete the admission exam, with an additional candidate testing at a secondary site in La Paz.

According to the institution’s official communication unit, the 36 individuals who did not attend represent just 3.34 percent of the total applicant pool. The testing process required a significant logistical operation, involving 260 personnel to manage exam security, medical support, and facility coordination.

University Deploys Classrooms for Applicants

To accommodate the volume of applicants, CUCosta deployed 27 standard classrooms across three primary buildings, supplemented by two specialized rooms on the ground floor of building D. These specialized areas were designated to meet accessibility requirements, ensuring the university could support all candidates during the testing window that began at 7:00 a.m.

The university’s approach to inclusion involved identifying 18 applicants with disabilities prior to the exam date. While the school offered specific accommodations for these students, only two formally requested the use of the specialized facilities.

Medical Program Draws Highest Applicant Demand

The distribution of applicants reveals a clear preference for healthcare and professional degree paths. The Médico Cirujano y Partero program faced the highest demand, drawing 397 applicants. Psychology followed with 80 candidates, while Nursing and Public Accounting saw 69 and 61 applicants, respectively. Other programs, including Architecture with 59, Law and Administration with 53 each, Civil Engineering and Nutrition with 46 each, Culinary Sciences and Arts with 37, Biology with 33, Multimedia Communication Engineering with 31, Physical Culture and Sports with 29, Computer Engineering with 28, Graphic Communication Design with 16, Visual Arts for Plastic Expression with 15, Tourism with 14, and Visual Arts for Photographic Expression with 12, maintained steady interest.

The university’s ability to mobilize 103 professors as exam proctors alongside 157 staff members for security, maintenance, and medical support demonstrates the scale of the administrative operation. Con this organization, the CUCosta carried out the admission process under conditions of attention, accessibility, and prevention, as part of the University of Guadalajara’s actions to welcome those seeking to join its higher education programs.
