Sofia, Bulgaria – CSKA 1948 is poised to sign Alberto Salido, the star forward from Beroe Stara Zagora, according to a statement from club owner Tsvetomir Naydenov. The potential transfer, which could significantly bolster CSKA 1948’s attacking options, was hinted at by Naydenov via a social media post on February 22, 2026.

Naydenov’s post featured an image of a fan sporting a mustache, alongside a caption explicitly comparing the supporter’s appearance to Salido, known as “The Magical Mustache” for his own facial hair. The post included the phrase “Coming soon,” signaling the imminent arrival of the player, according to reports.

Salido, 26, has been a prolific scorer for Beroe, with 19 goals in 50 First League appearances. This season alone, he has netted 10 league goals, placing him among the top scorers in the Bulgarian First League, alongside Santiago Godoy of CSKA and Bertrand Fourie of Septemvri. Only Everтин Бала (11 goals for Levski), Mamadou Diallo (11 goals for CSKA 1948) and Ivaylo Chochev (12 goals for Ludogorets) have scored more.

Interest in Salido extended beyond CSKA 1948, with Levski Sofia also reportedly pursuing the player. However, according to sources, Levski withdrew from the race due to financial constraints, unable to match the financial power of CSKA 1948 and other leading clubs in the league.

Notably, Salido was absent from the Beroe squad for their match against Arda on February 22, 2026, a development widely interpreted as a sign that the transfer to CSKA 1948 is nearing completion. He was observed in the stands during the match, watching his former teammates.
