CrowView Note with Arduino UNO Q Lapdock for Makers
Elecrow has announced the CrowView Note, a 14-inch lapdock designed to provide a portable chassis for single-board computers (SBCs). The device functions as an external housing for hardware such as a Raspberry Pi 5 or an Nvidia Jetson Nano, which connects to the unit via an adapter plate located on the left side of the chassis.
The system features a 14-inch IPS display with 100% sRGB color coverage and 300 nits of brightness. To facilitate a mobile computing experience, the CrowView Note integrates a keyboard and trackpad into the unit.
Hardware Design and Build
The device is designed for portability and features a lightweight construction, though it utilizes a plastic chassis. While the adapter plate connection is noted for having tight tolerances, the unit is reported to provide decent battery life and usable input components.
Pricing and Availability
The CrowView Note is scheduled for a crowdfunding campaign. Under a super early bird pricing structure, backers can obtain the unit for $119, or $129 including the necessary adapter plates. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) is set at $169, with bridging adapter plates for Raspberry Pi or Nvidia Jetson systems available for an additional $10.
