Cristiano Ronaldo Celebrates Al-Nassr 71st Anniversary with Message
Al-Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo marked the Saudi club’s 71st anniversary with a social media message on Saturday, celebrating the institution’s history as it reaches the milestone on October 24. livescore.com reported that the forward posted on X, writing, “71 years of passion, happy birthday to Al-Nassr club.”
History and Records in Riyadh
The club responded on its official X account by stating, “A great legacy and history written since 71 years ago, and together we will make and write a new history to be told.” Ronaldo has scored more than 130 goals for Al Nassr since arriving in January 2023 following the termination of his contract with Manchester United. Last season, he helped the capital’s side claim the Saudi Roshn League title after a seven-year wait, securing the trophy on the final day with a 4-1 win over Damac where he scored twice. He also lifted the 2023 Arab Club Championship and finished as top scorer in the Saudi Roshn League across the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 campaigns.
The Chase for 1,000 Career Goals
Individual production in Riyadh has seen the Portuguese forward establish several marks, including 35 league goals in 2023-24 to break Abderrazak Hamdallah’s single-season record of 34 from 2018-19. Having reached 100 league goals in 105 appearances and, on August 28, passed Mohammed Al-Sahlawi’s mark of 103 club goals on August 28 against Al-Taawoun, the forward now requires 18 more goals to become the first player in football history to reach 1,000 career goals.
Worldsoccertalk.com also reported that Ronaldo’s arrival is widely credited with putting the Saudi Pro League on the global soccer map, alongside other high-profile arrivals like Karim Benzema, Neymar, and Sadio Mane.
