Crazy Taxi Brings Back Its Cult Soundtrack for Multiplayer Test
Sega is bringing back the original licensed soundtrack featuring Bad Religion and The Offspring for Crazy Taxi: World Tour, starting with an upcoming Multiplayer Closed Network Test in September, according to announcements made at the Gamescom expo in Germany.
Soundtrack Return Verified for September Network Test
Die-hard fans of the arcade classic will hear iconic tracks from the original game during the upcoming network trial, according to Gamereactor. Although the original arcade release featured only four playable songs alongside a small handful of menu tracks, those specific tunes by punk rock acts Bad Religion and The Offspring became a defining element of the franchise that subsequent sequels and re-releases consistently lacked.
Sega confirmed that five specific songs will be featured during the September Multiplayer Closed Network Test. Among the confirmed tracks are Bad Religion’s “Them and Us” and The Offspring’s “All I Want,” both of which have been absent from modern iterations of the taxi-driving game until now.
Accessibility Plans for Gamereactor Readers and Global Fans
Players unable to travel to the German expo to view Crazy Taxi: World Tour in person will still have an opportunity to experience the software firsthand. According to Gamereactor’s reporting from the event, the Multiplayer Closed Network Test is scheduled to launch in just two weeks, giving participants direct access to the restored musical lineup while navigating the virtual streets.
