Corte del Santa reports misuse of Judge Carrión Basauri’s identity

La Corte Superior de Justicia del Santa has issued an official alert regarding the alleged misuse of a magistrate’s identity to solicit money from third parties in Chimbote. The fraudulent scheme involves using the name of Javier Efraín Carrión Basauri, who serves as a judge at the Seventh Preparatory Investigation Court of Chimbote. According to the comunicado emitido, the fact was notified by the proper judge J. B., of the Seventh Preparatory Investigation Court of Chimbote, who informed the situation to the Presidency of the Court and presented documentation related to what occurred.

According to the judicial entity, the situation came to light when the judge himself reported the incident to the Presidencia de la Corte del Santa and submitted related documentation. The scheme reportedly involved using the magistrate’s name to set up a digital wallet account, where money was apparently deposited.

Action Taken by the Presidency of the Court

Following the report, the Presidencia de la Corte del Santa ordered that copies of the documents presented by the judge be sent to the Ministerio Público. This step aims to ensure that the proper investigative procedures and diligence are carried out to determine the facts.

The institution emphasized that it will provide all required collaboration to the competent authorities to clarify what occurred. The court reiterated that no magistrate, official, or judicial worker ever requests money, deposits, or transfers in exchange for decisions, actions, or benefits tied to legal proceedings. The judicial entity advised lawyers, litigants, and citizens to remain vigilant against any communication or financial request falsely attributed to a magistrate or judicial employee.
