Correio da Manhã Sets Rules for User Comments and Content Rights

Correio da Manhã Sets Rules for User Comments and Content Rights

October 16, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

User Commenting Restrictions

Alongside its coverage, Correio da Manhã has established specific parameters for the comment sections of its articles. The publication limits the ability to post comments exclusively to registered readers and subscribers of Correio da Manhã Premium.

To participate in these discussions, users must first read and expressly accept a set of rules designed to promote “fair-play” and a healthy environment of respect. The publication considers these spaces essential for the free circulation of ideas, debate and reflection. The publication states that it is not obligated to monitor or pre-visualize all shared content, though the newsroom reserves the right to pre-evaluate and block comments that do not follow the established guidelines.

Users Grant Correio Da Manhã License to Submitted Content

Under the terms of use, readers must declare they are the sole owners of the rights to the content they submit. While the reader remains the owner of the content, by submitting a comment, they grant Correio da Manhã a “free, irrevocable, transferable, exclusive and perpetual” license to use that content across any current or future media formats.

The rules place full legal and financial responsibility on the user. Readers are exclusively responsible for any fines, penalties, or indemnities resulting from their posts. Users are prohibited from submitting content that is obscene, offensive, or violates third-party intellectual property rights.

Correio Da Manhã Bans Hate Speech and Commercial Activity

Correio da Manhã explicitly bans the use of its comment sections for the following purposes:

  • Commercial activities or the dissemination of advertising messages.
  • Content involving racism, xenophobia, discrimination, or the incitement of violence and illegal acts.
  • Content intended to humiliate or damage the reputation and good name of third parties.

The publication reserves the right to delete non-compliant comments immediately without prior notice. Depending on the violation, the outlet may suspend or permanently ban a user’s ability to comment, regardless of their subscription status. All comments are automatically hidden one week after they are published.

Editorial Disclaimer

The outlet specifies that any shared content represents the sole opinion of the author. The publication notes that the appearance of a comment does not imply that Correio da Manhã had prior knowledge of the text, nor that it validates, supports or agrees with the content.
