Kilbrittain and Glen Rovers Secure Premier JHC Semi-Final Spots as Relegation Play-off is Set
Kilbrittain topped Group 2 in the Co-op SuperStores Premier JHC with a dominant 3-20 to 1-10 victory over Nemo Rangers, while Glen Rovers advanced directly to the semi-finals after defeating Meelin 1-25 to 0-18 in Glantane. These results, alongside other group stage contests, have finalized the quarter-final and semi-final pairings, and persistent the teams facing a relegation battle.
Kilbrittain established a strong lead early, with goals from Conor Hogan (two) and a contribution from Philip wall, leading 2-0 to 0-1 within six minutes. Mark Hickey assisted Hogan’s second goal,and by halftime,Kilbrittain led 3-12 to 0-5. Despite a reduced scoring rate in the second half,thier supremacy remained unchallenged,with Eoin Kelly scoring a late goal for Nemo. Shane Horgan was Nemo’s top scorer with five points.
Glen Rovers’ victory was fueled by goals from Glen Kennefick and strong performances from Calvin Healy and Evan Murphy, who each scored seven points, alongside Nathan Goulding’s five points.
In Group 3, Milford avoided the relegation play-off with a 2-16 to 0-20 win over Tracton, Tommy Curran scoring both Milford goals.
Consequently, Barryroe and Meelin will contest a relegation play-off to avoid dropping to Junior A.
