Cork GAA Launches New Jersey Featuring Historic Red Collar Design
A Red Collar Returns to the Rebel County
Cork GAA has brought back a red collar on its new jersey, echoing the design choice last seen during the county’s 2004 and 2005 senior hurling championship victories.
While Mayo’s recent All-Ireland SFC title win featured a white kit recalling their 1951 success, Cork has opted against a major color shift like the white worn by the 1973 and 2010 football sides. Instead, the newest strip launched on Thursday features a subtle return to the red collar worn when the Liam MacCarthy Cup was last secured and retained. The design also incorporates a red pattern featuring elements from the county crest, including the ship and the North and South Gates.
Leaning Into Strength, Identity and Power
“We’ve leaned into some of the things that we believe Cork GAA stands for and is universally associated with – strength, identity and power,” said county board secretary/CEO Kevin O’Donovan. He added that the inclusion of the county crest reflects a rich heritage across both codes as the county approaches 2027.

Mahon Point In-Store Launch and Retail Plans
An official in-store launch is scheduled at the Sports Direct outlet at Mahon Point on Thursday, October 29, running from 5-6.30pm, where fans can meet inter-county players. The new strip will be available through Sports Direct stores and on oneills.com.
