Goulburn​ Trainer Seib Eyes Cootamundra Cup Victory with Due Calzini

COOTAMUNDRA, NSW – Goulburn trainer Danielle Seib is poised to continue ‍her winning form at Cootamundra Racecourse this Sunday, entering Due⁤ Calzini as the favorite⁤ in ​the Central Hotel Cootamundra Cup ‍(1600m). Seib will also saddle hellinda⁤ in the Riverina Ford Benchmark 66 ‍Handicap (1100m), creating a strong presence for her stable at the Riverina meet.

The Cootamundra Cup, a​ $32,000 event, represents a key‌ opportunity for both horses and a potential boost for Seib’s stable. With ‌Due Calzini boasting a strong record and a recent trial win, and Hellinda consistently placing in previous races, Seib is optimistic about their chances. The outcome of Sunday’s⁢ races could significantly⁢ impact their ‍future racing schedules and potential for further success.

“Due Calzini is a very good horse, he’s been⁤ good for us, ⁤and I’m hoping that he can go on with the job on Sunday,” Seib stated. ⁣The gelding has accumulated four wins and six placings from 20 career starts, including a recent victory over a longer distance at Wagga.Seib highlighted a solid trial performance as further planning for ⁣the ⁤Cup.

Hellinda, while having only secured two wins from 23 starts, demonstrates remarkable consistency, having finished second nine times. “He’s only won the⁣ two races from 23 starts, but he has finished‍ second nine times so he’s never too far away,” Seib explained. “It looks a suitable race for him on Sunday.”

Adding to the competitive field, Wagga trainer​ Tim Donnelly‌ will be looking for redemption with County Kilkenny,‍ who placed second in last year’s ​Cootamundra Cup. ⁢Both Seib’s gallopers will‍ be ridden by Boudvillain.
