When the 2024/25 season came to an end in April, the descent of the Bottrop badminton community was already determined in the district league. The second descent in a row is particularly bitter, but also offered the chance to further develop the young team in a lower league in order to then be prepared with more experience for higher tasks. But now everything turns a little differently than expected.
During the season planning, the idea matures to found a syndicate with the friendly SG Duisburg-Süd. At the beginning of July, this path will also be officially confirmed and the joint team was reported. This means that the Bottrop BG can prove itself again in the Landesliga in the coming season. The syndicate not only fits the traditional Bottrop club, it also offers many advantages and opportunities. Several players will join the team, which, on the one hand, will spark a greater competition, but will also spark a new team dynamics-this is what one hopes.
The team, together with the other BBG teams, is currently preparing for the coming season, in which the goal of relegation is to be started again.
