Larry David made his grand exit from HBO last year after 12 seasons of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” across 24 years.
He’s already back.
David has signed on for a new HBO show in collaboration with former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama.
“Once ‘Curb’ ended, I celebrated with a three-day foam party,” David said in a statement he clearly enjoying writing.
“After a violent allergic reaction to the suds, I yearned to return to my simple life as a beekeeper, harvesting organic honey from the wildflowers in my meadow. Alas, one day my bees mysteriously vanished. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I return to television, hoping to ease the loss of my beloved hive.”

So what are Larry David and the Obamas working on?
An “untitled American history sketch comedy.”
The six-episode limited series will star David, who will serve as executive producer working with Higher Ground, the Obamas’ production company.
“I’ve sat across the table from some of the world’s most difficult leaders and wrestled with some of our most intractable problems,” Barack Obama said in a statement. “Nothing has prepared me for working with Larry David.”
Apparently, the Obamas wanted to “honor America’s 250th anniversary,” approaching in July 2026, “But then Larry David called.”

David is writing the sketch series with Jeff Schaffer, who wrote and directed on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and wrote and produced the 2013 HBO movie “Clear History” starring David. Schaffer is also directing the new sketch show.
Each episode runs 30 minutes and doesn’t just see the return of David.
He’s bringing along his other friends from “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” too.
The series announcement promises a “mix” of “Curb” actors and “noteworthy guest stars.”
Viewers should be in for a treat on that front, since David tends to draw some pretty big names.
Guest stars in the final season of “Curb” included Bruce Springsteen, Jerry Seinfeld and Conan O’Brien.
