I-696 and Woodward traffic lights out, among other busy intersections
OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Several communities in Metro Detroit are waking up without power Friday morning and with no functioning traffic lights.
The DTE outage map shows several areas with more than 1,000 customers impacted on July 11.
According to the map, the cause of the outages was due to equipment problems.
The outage has been causing some trouble on the roads as people get out the door.
The estimated restoration time is between 2:15 a.m. and 6:15 a.m.
When traffic lights are not working and don’t have a blinking red or yellow light, drivers are required to treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
