TimesApps Introduces New features for Enhanced User Engagement

TimesApps has rolled out a series of updates designed to improve user interaction and data tracking across its platforms. These enhancements include teh integration of Google Analytics (gtag.js) and Facebook Pixel for campaign monitoring, alongside the implementation of Survicate for user feedback collection.

The new features are contingent on specific site settings and campaign activations. For users who are not identified as prime subscribers, the system checks for the availability of `toiplus_site_settings`, specifically `isFBCampaignActive` and `isGoogleCampaignActive`. If these settings are present, the respective tracking scripts are loaded.

In scenarios where the initial site settings are not available or the user is a prime subscriber, TimesApps utilizes a fallback mechanism. It fetches site settings from a designated Jarvis API endpoint. This dynamic approach ensures that tracking and feedback tools are deployed appropriately based on user status and campaign configurations.

The Survicate integration,a key component of this update, allows for the collection of user traits such as subscription status and geolocation. This data is intended to provide deeper insights into user behavior and preferences. The survicate script is loaded asynchronously to minimize any impact on page load times, with a fallback to an event listener if the Survicate object is not instantly available.

The `TimesApps.toiPlusEvents` function serves as the central point for managing these integrations. It intelligently determines which tracking and feedback mechanisms to activate based on the prevailing conditions, ensuring a tailored experience for different user segments and campaign objectives.
