Coen Verbraak Wins Sonja Barend Award for Best TV Interview

Coen Verbraak has been awarded the Sonja barend Award for best TV interview of the past season, recognizing his conversation with ⁤former criminal lawyer‍ Bram Moszkowicz. The winning interview aired on the HUMAN program To Survive.

The award, an initiative of⁣ VARAgids, celebrates excellence in television interviewing. The jury praised Verbraak’s skillful pacing adn​ ability to create a deeply human conversation with​ Moszkowicz, exploring themes of honor, loss, and self-image. This recognition underscores the continuing importance of thoughtful, in-depth interviews in a rapidly changing media landscape.

according to the jury, verbraak “knows exactly when to accelerate and when to remain silent.”‌ They described the resulting conversation as “more human than⁤ you would expect from such a legal heavyweight.”

Tim Hofman’s interview with the late Eva Hermans-Kroot, from Over My Dead Body, placed second. The⁣ jury⁣ commended its balance of grief, humor, and dignity.

Verbraak,speaking to VARAgids,expressed his surprise and honor at ⁢being ‌recognized alongside​ the ‍legacy of Sonja Barend,stating,”It ‌is very honorable to be mentioned in the​ same sentence with Sonja Barend again. I do‍ this work because I enjoy it immensely and if others appreciate it in this way, that is only⁢ very nice.” the award⁣ was presented during the BNNVARA program‌ Pauw &‍ De Wit.
