Kosovo will experience mostly cloudy skies today, with minimum temperatures ranging from -3 to 0 degrees Celsius, according to the Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo (IHK).
The IHK forecasts that maximum temperatures will reach between 8 and 11 degrees Celsius. Winds will blow from the northeast at a speed of 1 to 4 meters per second.
The IHK, a government organization based in Pristina, announced the forecast via Telegraph, a Kosovo news outlet. The institute’s announcement indicates a continuation of stable meteorological conditions, though mornings will remain relatively cold with a continued possibility of frost.
While the IHK notes that agrometeorological conditions are currently favorable for planting autumn crops due to recent rainfall, the cold mornings present a potential challenge. The institute previously announced favorable conditions for farmers in late October 2020, following significant rainfall.
Recent weather patterns in the region have been varied. Australia has experienced a heatwave with temperatures nearing record highs, while Bosnia and Herzegovina faced heavy snowfall in early January 2026, resulting in at least one fatality. Spain also battled wildfires in August 2025, with three deaths reported.
In July 2025, the Balkans region was impacted by a severe hailstorm in Croatia and widespread wildfires in Serbia. Earlier that year, in January 2026, a strong snowfall impacted Bosnia.
