Clír Water: New Jobs as Former Classic Mineral Water Plant Reopens
A former bottling plant in Lurgan, County Armagh, has been brought back into operation following a €5 million investment from tech entrepreneur Neil Sands, with plans to create up to 60 new jobs.
The facility, previously known as Classic Mineral Water, ceased operations almost two years ago after a contamination issue led to the firm’s insolvency. Sands, founder and CEO of Clír Water, has resolved the contamination problem and is now positioning the plant as a “liquid innovation hub,” according to a press release.
Sands, a fourth-generation water expert with over 30 years of experience in drilling and water extraction, established Clír Water with a focus on producing innovative spring water products. The company is registered in the UK as CLÍR WATER LTD (NI730293), according to filings with Companies House.
The investment aims to revitalize the local economy, offering employment opportunities in the Lurgan area. The plant’s revival marks a significant turnaround for a facility that was previously condemned due to water quality concerns. The focus will be on developing new drink products, a crucial element for the business’s success.
