ClickShare in Teams: Troubleshooting & Compatibility | Barco
Barco has released guidance for users experiencing issues with ClickShare Conference peripherals within Microsoft Teams meetings, addressing a common point of friction for organizations adopting hybrid work solutions.
The core of the issue centers on ensuring seamless wireless connectivity to in-room audio and video equipment during Teams calls. ClickShare Conference is designed to connect users wirelessly to microphones, soundbars, and cameras in a meeting space, enhancing the experience for both those present and remote participants, according to the company.
Users encountering problems are advised to first verify that the correct camera is selected within Microsoft Teams – specifically, “ClickShare Room Camera.” This selection can be made both before joining a meeting and during an active call via the camera selection button in the Teams window. Barco notes that the process of connecting to peripherals typically takes less than seven seconds.
The ClickShare Hub Core, when bundled with the Sennheiser TeamConnect Bar S, is a certified Microsoft Teams Rooms solution, specifically tailored for smaller meeting spaces. This bundle enables one-click wireless conferencing and 4K content sharing via a next-generation ClickShare Button, which utilizes Wi-Fi 6E and USB connectivity.
Barco’s ClickShare ConferenceView, designed for use with both Microsoft Teams and Zoom, requires users to have version 4.39 or higher of the ClickShare Desktop App installed. The company cautions against running multiple ClickShare applications simultaneously, as this can cause conflicts.
The solutions are intended to facilitate a “Bring Your Own Meeting” (BYOM) approach, allowing users to initiate hybrid meetings from their own laptops and share content wirelessly to both the meeting room display and remote participants. This capability extends beyond Microsoft Teams, enabling connectivity to other UC platforms as well.
210 Solutions, a technology integration firm, highlights the ease-of-use of ClickShare Conference, noting its seamless integration with UC solutions like Microsoft Teams. The company emphasizes the benefits of a cable-free experience and the ability to collaborate interactively with all attendees.
