PNC Park to Screen Award-Winning ‘Clemente’ Documentary Ahead of MLB‘s Clemente Day
PITTSBURGH – PNC Park will host a special screening of the critically acclaimed documentary “Clemente” on September 14th, the eve of Major League Baseball’s annual Roberto clemente Day. The event offers fans a unique opportunity to celebrate the life and enduring legacy of the Pittsburgh pirates legend.
The documentary, produced by Vinegar Hill and executive-produced by LeBron James and Richard linklater, recently won the 2024 Documentary Spotlight Audience Award at SXSW. It delves into Clemente’s remarkable career, humanitarian work, and lasting impact on baseball and beyond.
Tickets are priced at $15 individually or $21 for a pair – a nod to Clemente’s iconic jersey number 21. VIP tickets are available for $75 and include access to a post-screening Q&A panel with members of the Clemente family, former Pirates players, and other special guests, along with light refreshments.
Gates will open at 6:30 p.m.,with programming beginning at 7:15 p.m. and the film screening at 7:30 p.m. on the PNC Park main scoreboard. All proceeds from the event will benefit both the Clemente Foundation and further support the film’s production.MLB’s Roberto Clemente Day, observed annually across all 30 Major League Baseball clubs, honors Clemente’s life, his dedication to helping others, and his meaningful contributions to the game.
