Jonny Clayton secured a dominant victory at the Premier League Darts Night Three in Glasgow, defeating Gian van Veen 6-2 in the final after a stellar performance that saw him overcome Gerwyn Price and a struggling Luke Littler, according to reports from Sky Sports and the BBC.

The Welshman, the 2021 Premier League champion, ended a nearly three-year, ten-match losing streak against his compatriot Price earlier in the evening, winning 6-3. He then delivered a resounding 6-1 victory over world number one Luke Littler in the semi-finals, averaging 101.33 and demonstrating exceptional finishing accuracy.

Clayton sealed his win against Van Veen with a spectacular 156 checkout, capping off a night where his consistency and composure proved decisive. “I felt good tonight, didn’t expect the 6-1 against Luke I have to be honest, but I felt good and my darts were going, when your finishing is good the confidence goes up and tonight was my night,” Clayton told Sky Sports. “I’m enjoying myself, when you enjoy what you’re doing things seem to happen. I have a bit of experience in this tournament, it’s my favourite and I know what I have to do to get to finals night.”

Littler, who received a bye to the semi-finals after Michael van Gerwen withdrew due to illness, appeared off his game against Clayton. Former Premier League winner Glen Durrant commented to Sky Sports that Littler “looked stunned at the end,” while Laura Turner noted that the young star hadn’t reached the levels expected of him in the early stages of the 2026 season.

Van Veen reached the final after a hard-fought 6-5 victory over Luke Humphries in the semi-finals, battling back from 3-1 down and surviving two match darts. Humphries had earlier defeated Josh Rock 6-2, despite Rock being booed by the Glasgow crowd due to his support for Rangers Football Club, and briefly responding with a 3-1 gesture referencing a recent Old Firm derby win.

Van Gerwen’s withdrawal meant Littler advanced directly to the semi-finals, gaining two league points and a +1 leg difference, while Van Gerwen received no points and a -6 leg difference. The Dutchman’s absence was due to a medical issue, according to tournament officials.

Clayton’s victory moves him to the top of the Premier League standings with nine points. The next event, Night Four, will be held at the SSE Arena in Belfast on February 26, featuring a match between Josh Rock and Gian van Veen, and a quarter-final clash between Luke Littler and Jonny Clayton.
