“ahsoka” Star Exits Disney+ Series Following Salary Dispute
Claudia Black, known for her roles in ”Stargate SG-1″ and “Pitch Black,” has departed the Disney+ “Star Wars” series “Ahsoka” after a disagreement over compensation with Disney,NME reports. The actress, who appeared in the first season of the “The Mandalorian” spinoff, confirmed she would not return for future installments.
black’s decision stems from the series’ continued filming location in London, coupled with her need for increased earnings to support her family as a single mother based in Los Angeles. Despite describing the situation as “very sad” and expressing gratitude to series creator Dave Filoni, Black stated Disney was unable to meet her salary demands. The departure highlights the financial realities of the entertainment industry, where Black acknowledges it’s ”90 percent business and 10 percent show.”
The actor explained that higher compensation was necessary to balance the logistical challenges of working abroad while maintaining her family life in Los Angeles. When Disney declined to adjust her salary,Black chose to leave the production.
Despite the setback, Black remains appreciative of her involvement in the “Star Wars” universe. Season two of “Ahsoka” is currently expected to premiere no sooner than 2026.
