U&Dave and U to Broadcast Televised Debut of “Clash of the Comics“
London - UKTV’s free streaming service, U, and free-to-air entertainment channel, U&Dave, will air the first televised event of the live comedy experience “Clash of the Comics” later this year.
Produced by Max & Ivan and Expectation, “Clash of the Comics” has gained recognition for its “chaos, hilarity, and violence” at comedy festivals. According to Gerald Casey, the show’s lineup features “a who’s who of the finest comedians in the country,” all of whom are reportedly taking their training “incredibly seriously.”
Ben Wicks stated, ”We are overjoyed to be working wiht visionaries max & Ivan, and the wonderfully passionate people at U&Dave to bring what’s been a massive hit at comedy festivals to television.” He added, anticipating success, “With cliff hanger endings, outrageous storylines, and - most importantly – the funniest people in britain demonstrating an unquenchable thirst [for] physical violence…we’ll fight anyone who says otherwise (providing it’s in at least 6 months-time once Max and Ivan have had time to train us properly).”
U offers over 9,000 hours of content, including programming exclusive to the service and content from U&Dave, U&Drama, U&Yesterday, and U&W. U&Dave currently broadcasts shows such as Will & Ralf Should Know Better, Guy Martin: Proper Jobs, and BAFTA-winning Big Zuu’s Big Eats, and has commissioned its first scripted drama, Hit point, set to air next year.
