Clash of the Comics: UK TV Premiere on U & Dave

U&Dave and U to Broadcast Televised Debut of “Clash of the Comics

London -‌ UKTV’s free streaming service, U, and free-to-air ⁤entertainment channel, U&Dave, will air the first televised event of the ‍live comedy experience “Clash of the⁢ Comics” later this year.

Produced by Max & Ivan ​and Expectation, “Clash of the Comics” has gained recognition for its “chaos, hilarity, and violence” at comedy festivals.‍ According to Gerald Casey, the show’s lineup features‍ “a who’s who ⁤of the finest comedians in the country,” all of whom are reportedly taking⁢ their training “incredibly seriously.”

Ben Wicks stated, ‍”We are overjoyed to be ​working wiht visionaries max & Ivan, and the wonderfully passionate people at U&Dave to bring⁢ what’s been a ⁣massive hit at comedy festivals ⁢to television.” He added, anticipating success, “With cliff hanger endings, outrageous storylines, and -‍ most ​importantly – the‌ funniest people in britain demonstrating an ‍unquenchable​ thirst [for] physical violence…we’ll fight anyone who says otherwise (providing it’s in at least 6 months-time once Max ⁤and Ivan have had time to train us properly).”

U offers over 9,000 hours⁣ of content, including programming exclusive to the service and content from U&Dave, U&Drama, U&Yesterday, and ‌U&W. U&Dave currently broadcasts shows such ⁤as Will & Ralf Should Know Better,⁢ Guy⁢ Martin: Proper Jobs, and BAFTA-winning Big ⁣Zuu’s Big⁢ Eats, and‌ has commissioned its first‌ scripted drama, ​ Hit point, set to air next year.

UKTV has been a branded television provider for over 30 years, with channels⁣ available on UKTV Play, Freeview, Sky, Virgin Media, ⁣BT, TalkTalk, ⁢YouView, ⁢Freesat and Amazon Fire. It is part of BBC Studios.
