WIELDRECHT – CKC secured their first three points of the season with a 1-0 victory over Wieldrecht on Saturday, overcoming a challenging start marked by an early injury and significant travel delays. The win, achieved after 96 minutes of play, demonstrates the team’s resilience and determination as they navigate a demanding early schedule.
The match presented immediate hurdles for CKC, including a shoulder injury to defender Copier in the 23rd minute, forcing the team to play with ten men for a considerable period. CKC emerged from the break with renewed energy, and van Horik delivered the decisive blow with a stunning strike into the top corner just after the restart. Obert nearly doubled the lead moments later, but the Wieldrecht goalkeeper intervened.Kramer also came close in the 60th minute with a stunning half-volley, again denied by a strong save.
Wieldrecht pressed for an equalizer in the latter stages, but CKC’s defense, bolstered by committed blocks, held firm. A late header from Wieldrecht bounced off the crossbar, signaling their final attempt. The final whistle confirmed CKC’s hard-earned victory.
