Saint Paul Honors Kirill Kaprizov with Temporary Street Renaming
SAINT PAUL, MN – In a unique tribute to Minnesota Wild star Kirill kaprizov, the city of Saint Paul has temporarily renamed W 7th Street to “W 97th Street,” recognizing his jersey number and recent eight-year contract extension with the team.
The honorary street sign is currently displayed at the intersection of Kellogg Boulevard and W 7th Street/Eagle Street, affixed to a traffic signal.
“Kaprizov didn’t just sign a record-breaking deal, he chose Saint Paul, he chose Minnesota,” stated a city representative.
We’re excited for the upcoming hockey season and to build momentum with the Wild and Grand casino Arena, solidifying Saint Paul as the capital city of hockey.”
This gesture underscores Kaprizov’s commitment to the city and the growing excitement surrounding the Minnesota Wild. The team will conclude its preseason schedule on October 3rd before embarking on the regular season.their first home game, at the newly named Grand Casino Arena, is scheduled for October 11th.
