Citroën Ami Rip Curl Special Edition Launches in Turkey

July 9, 2026 Rachel Kim – Technology Editor Technology

Citroën has introduced the Rip Curl special edition of its micro-mobility vehicle, the Ami, to the Turkish market, setting a starting price of 630,000 TL. The release marks an expansion of the brand’s local lineup, offering a distinct aesthetic package for the electric quadricycle that maintains its existing mechanical specifications.

## Pricing and Market Positioning
The Citroën Ami Rip Curl series is now available for purchase in Turkey with an official list price of 630,000 TL, according to reports from industry outlets including LOG and CHIP Online. This pricing places the special edition at a premium compared to the standard Ami models currently circulating in the Turkish market. The vehicle remains categorized as a quadricycle, a classification that dictates its primary use case as an urban mobility solution rather than a traditional passenger car.

## Design and Visual Enhancements
The collaboration with the surfing-focused brand Rip Curl introduces specific cosmetic updates intended to differentiate the model from the base version. The exterior features unique decals and color accents that reflect the partnership’s branding. According to TeknoTalk, the interior and exterior modifications are largely focused on style, incorporating design elements that align with the Rip Curl identity. While the aesthetics are refreshed, the core technical architecture—including the battery capacity and electric motor output—remains unchanged from the standard model.

## Technical Specifications and Performance
Despite the aesthetic shift, the Rip Curl edition retains the performance characteristics of the original Ami. The vehicle is powered by a 5.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides a range of approximately 75 kilometers on a single charge under optimal conditions. The electric motor produces 8 horsepower, limiting the vehicle to a maximum speed of 45 kilometers per hour. Charging the battery to full capacity takes approximately three hours when using a standard 220V household socket, a feature that remains the primary functional selling point of the vehicle for city commuters.

## Distribution and Availability
The launch of the Rip Curl series comes as part of Citroën’s broader strategy to maintain the Ami’s presence in the Turkish market. Following the initial success of the base model, the introduction of special editions allows the manufacturer to offer customers differentiated options without requiring significant re-engineering of the platform. Prospective buyers can access the model through the brand’s established digital sales channels and authorized dealers, where the vehicle is positioned as a niche alternative for urban environments.

Citroën has not yet announced a production cap for the Rip Curl series in Turkey, leaving the duration of the model’s availability subject to future inventory adjustments and market demand.
