Évreux,France - The Eure-Seine Hospital center (CHES) is launching a groundbreaking citizen loan, offering residents a direct possibility to invest in the future of their local healthcare. This innovative financing model allows individuals to lend directly to the hospital, becoming stakeholders in strengthening regional care.
For every euro invested, citizens will directly contribute to the redevelopment of the Évreux hospital site and the acquisition of essential biomedical and hotel equipment. The loan offers a fixed annual gross interest rate of 2.8% with a 7-year reimbursement schedule. For example, a €1,000 investment will return a gross total of €1,101.50 at maturity.
The €400,000 project will fund the opening of 22 new hospital beds, addressing growing regional healthcare demands. These beds will bolster key specialties including oncology, hematology, neurology, pneumology, rheumatology, general internal medicine, and short-term geriatrics.
The broader hospital restructuring aims to modernize internal medicine services – particularly in diabetes, general medicine, and neurology - establish two new specialized units in oncology and hematology, and increase geriatric care capacity.
The financing is structured with 70% coming from CHES’s own funds and 30% through the citizen loan initiative.
construction is slated to begin in mid-October 2025, with the project expected to be fully operational by late 2025.
“This citizen loan represents a short, transparent, and virtuous financing circuit,” stated a CHES representative. “It’s a simple and concrete way for the community to demonstrate solidarity, earn a return, and invest in the health of our region.”
