Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education Promotes School Violence Prevention at Marathon

Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education Promotes School Violence Prevention at Marathon

October 17, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

Twenty-eight school officials and education office staff traded their desks for a running course on October 17, 2026, joining the 24th Cheongwon Life Rice Daecheongho Marathon to campaign against school violence, viva100.com reported. The Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education used the regional sports event at Munui Sports Park and the Daecheongho area to promote student protection policies directly to local runners and spectators.

Running Policies Through the Daecheongho Course

The participants wore running gear to highlight the education office’s “All-Right School” initiative, a broader campaign designed to foster safe and respectful campus environments. Alongside the physical race, staff distributed information on multiple student welfare policies, including measures to counter cyber violence, illegal cyber gambling, child abuse, and digital sex crimes.

The outreach also spotlighted positive initiatives such as the daily “Book Spring” reading culture program, student mental health support, and gender equality education under the “Everyone is My True Self” banner. Within the school violence prevention messaging, staff singled out “Yacha-ruhl,” a violent playground game gaining traction among teenagers, to warn parents and community members about its physical and psychological risks.

Connecting Physical Activity to Campus Culture

The marathon appearance ties directly into the education office’s “Everywhere Playground” policy, which prioritizes physical activity and healthy lifestyle habits for students. By stepping onto the course themselves, teachers and administrators aimed to model the mutual respect and healthy habits they advocate for inside classrooms.

Choi Sun-mi, head of the Character and Citizenship Division, noted that running alongside local residents allowed the education staff to share vital safety messages in an open environment.
