Chris Martin Concert: Viral Kiss Cam Leads to CEO Resignation

Chris Martin of Coldplay issued a cautionary note regarding audience engagement during concerts following an incident at a recent show where a couple was prominently featured on the venue’s large screen. The pair, who were seen embracing, appeared visibly flustered and attempted to conceal their identities upon realizing they were being broadcast.

A social media clip captured Martin’s reaction, where he remarked, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

The individuals were subsequently identified by online users as Andy Byron, CEO of the tech firm Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the company’s chief people officer and head of human resources.

Astronomer announced on Saturday that Byron has resigned from his position. Pete DeJoy, a co-founder and the chief product officer at Astronomer, has assumed the role of interim CEO.

The company had previously stated on its LinkedIn page on Friday that “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.” The board of directors has also initiated a formal inquiry into the matter.

Coldplay has not yet issued a direct statement regarding the incident, which has generated widespread online commentary and humorous content.
