New film “Children of the Resistance” to Chronicle Young Heroes of WWII
PARIS – Director Christophe Baratier (“The Choir Boy,” “The New War”) is set to release a new past adventure drama, “Children of the Resistance,” in French cinemas on February 11, 2026. The film, produced in France, is based on a classic comic and tells the story of Youseb and Lisa, two children who bravely participated in covert operations against the German occupying forces during World War II, including sabotage, code passing, and jailbreaks.
The film aims to present an accessible and entertaining portrayal of the French Resistance thru the eyes of its youngest members, emphasizing themes of courage, friendship, and justice. “Children of the Resistance” showcases solidarity and teamwork in the face of adversity, offering a new outlook on a pivotal chapter in French history.
Baratier reunites with Gérard Junod, his collaborator from “The Choir Boy,” for this project.The cast includes Lucas Hector, Nina Fairbrandt, Octave Gerbi, Gérard Junod, and Pierre de Donchan. Targeted towards family audiences and student groups, the film is faithful to the spirit of the original comic.
