Nevada Child Care costs Remain Below $1,000 Per Week, Despite Rising Expenses
CARSON CITY, NV – Concerns about the high cost of child care are widespread, but claims of average weekly expenses reaching $1,000 in Nevada are inaccurate.Current data indicates that while costs have increased substantially in the last decade, they remain well below that figure.
Child Care Aware of America, a leading child care advocacy association, reported the annual cost of infant child care in Nevada at $12,659 for 2024 - approximately $243 per week. This is slightly lower than the national average of $13,128.
A 2023 study by the Economic Policy Institute found Nevada’s average weekly cost to be $307, still considerably less than $1,000.
