Chicago Improv Group ‘Asian Takeout’ Brings Asian American Comedy to Stage

CHICAGO (WLS) — A Chicago-based improv group is showcasing the comedic talents of Asian American performers with a unique monthly show.

Asian Takeout, an improv ensemble, is dedicated to elevating voices from the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.

The group presents a monthly variety show titled “Today’s Specials”, held on the second Sunday of each month at kamehachi Sushi in chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. The show features a diverse lineup of “appetizers,” including stand-up comedy and musical performances, culminating in a long-form improv set.

Attendees have the possibility to order from a special “asian Takeout” menu during the performance, which includes a signature cocktail exclusive to the show.
