Chelsea Transfer News: Blues Still Keen on Igor Thiago Despite New Contract

Chelsea are continuing to monitor Brentford striker Igor Thiago, despite the player recently signing a new contract that extends his stay at the Gtech Community Stadium until 2031, according to reports from TEAMtalk.

The Blues, who brought in Joao Pedro and Liam Delap last summer and are preparing for the arrival of Emmanuel Emegha this summer, appear to be assessing their forward options despite recent investment in the position. Pedro has impressed with ten Premier League goals this season, but Delap has struggled for form, netting just two goals in 24 appearances, with only one in the league.

Chelsea’s interest in Thiago comes as they seek to bolster their attacking options, with the Brazilian currently the second-highest goalscorer in the Premier League with 17 goals, trailing only Erling Haaland of Manchester City.
