Chelsea Green defends WWE Women’s Title against Nikki Bella

WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green defends her title against WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella on the October 30, 2026, episode of SmackDown at the Charleston Coliseum in West Virginia, following a public mocking of the champion by Bella from the sidelines of an NFL game in Paris.

Nikki Bella Mocks Chelsea Green Before Title Match

Nikki Bella traveled to Paris for the Pittsburgh Steelers versus New Orleans Saints game on October 25, 2026, where she wore a cap resembling Chelsea Green’s ring entrance gear and performed Green’s entrance moves before switching to her own presentation. Fox News reported that Bella posted a video to Instagram stating, “What now Chelsea? Doing those Hall of Famer things,” accompanied by a caption suggesting Green would never know what that honor feels like. Yahoo Sports noted that Bella has pursued singles gold since returning to WWE last year, and she is scheduled to challenge Green for the WWE Women’s Championship on SmackDown. While in Paris alongside her sister Brie, Bella stated, French influence, adding, We love to wrestle in New Orleans. And it’s only, I think, the best if New Orleans wins in Paris for the first NFL game. Unfortunately for the Bellas and Saints fans, New Orleans fell to Pittsburgh 16-10.

Matt Cardona Responds To The Paris Mockery

Matt Cardona publicly criticized Bella’s choice of accessory following the viral video appearance in France. Yahoo Sports reported that Cardona took to X to target the hat used in the impersonation, writing that it was not even an authentic replica from the official WWE shop. The remark turned the Hall of Fame confrontation into a debate over merchandise authenticity rather than addressing the title implications directly.

Chelsea Green Defends Championship After SummerSlam Victory

Chelsea Green secured her current championship status by winning a ladder match at SummerSlam, defeating four other competitors. Fox News reported that Green defended her title against Roxanne Perez on the October 23 episode of SmackDown with help from Raquel Rodriguez and IYO SKY, utilizing her UnprettiHER maneuver to retain the strap. Green previously offered the title match on the October 16 SmackDown after Bella insisted backstage on receiving a championship opportunity. Should Green successfully defend her title against Bella in West Virginia, she is scheduled to face Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan in a champion versus champion match on November 7 at Crown Jewel, according to Fox News reporting.
