Manseau, QC – A benefit concert, “All Together for Karine Soucy,” is scheduled for October 25th at the Manseau community hall, aiming too raise funds for local resident Karine Soucy’s medical treatment in India.
Soucy is battling multiple sclerosis, and supporters are working to raise $65,000 to finance specialized treatment that offers hope for improved mobility and pain reduction. As of today, approximately $35,000 has been collected through an ongoing GoFundMe campaign.
The event will feature performances by the Oldtimer band and a tribute group from Corbeau, both donating their time and talent. According to event organizer Stéphane Patry, the idea stemmed from a desire to help a longtime friend. “she is a childhood friend. She comes from Masseau and I too, the singer of my group tribute to Corbeau comes from there too.So, when we were made aware of the situation of Karine, I told myself that we had to mobilize,” Patry said.
Organizers emphasize that 100% of the proceeds - including ticket sales and drink revenue - will go directly to Soucy’s treatment fund. The event is being supported by a team of volunteers, including the mayor and a municipal committee, who are handling logistics and organization.
Doors open at 6:00 PM on October 25th, with Oldtimer Band performing from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, followed by the tribute to Corbeau from 9:00 PM to 11:30 PM. tickets are currently available for $15 at karinesoucy.ca and will be $20 at the door.
“I would have so much to say, but I would simply say that it is indeed the latest cry of karine’s heart. She wishes to suffer less, she would like a chance to prolong her life in dignity. She will be there, if her condition allows her, a few minutes elsewhere. Do not hesitate to give generously,” Patry added.
