Champions League: Inter vs Bodø/Glimt Lineups – 2025/2026 Playoffs

by Alex Carter - Sports Editor

Inter Milan’s Champions League campaign ended in dramatic fashion Tuesday, falling 2-1 to Bodø/Glimt at San Siro and losing 5-2 on aggregate in the playoff round. The Norwegian side, having already secured a 3-1 victory in the first leg, completed a stunning upset against the Italian giants.

Despite a dominant first half at San Siro, Inter failed to capitalize on numerous chances. The breakthrough for Bodø/Glimt came in the 58th minute through Jens Petter Hauge, capitalizing on a mistake by Inter defender Manuel Akanji. Hakon Evjen extended the lead to 2-0 in the 72nd minute, seemingly sealing Inter’s fate.

Alessandro Bastoni offered a glimmer of hope for Inter, scoring in the 76th minute, but the Nerazzurri were unable to find an equalizer. Inter registered 30 attempts on goal throughout the match, but were repeatedly denied by Bodø/Glimt goalkeeper Nikita Haikin.

The result marks a significant setback for Inter, coached by Cristian Chivu for this match and a historic achievement for Bodø/Glimt, who have now reached the Champions League last 16. They will face either Manchester City or Sporting CP in the next round.

Inter will return to action on Saturday, facing Genoa at San Siro in a Serie A match.
