Catamarca Rugby Club will host a training event on Friday, March 6, focused on developing youth rugby players, as part of a national initiative promoted by the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR).
The event, known as the National Children’s Rugby Update Day, aims to strengthen coaching and management practices within children’s rugby divisions. It will be led by Juan Argañaraz, the Provincial Development Officer for the Andean Union, and is intended for coordinators, coaches, and managers involved in youth rugby.
According to organizers, the training will cover key pedagogical and methodological approaches, including the objectives of children’s rugby, age-appropriate teaching methods through gameplay, match conduct, and current regulatory updates. The UAR initiative seeks to establish consistent standards across the country, prioritizing safety, structure, and the holistic development of young athletes.
The meeting will grab place at 6:30 p.m. In the canteen of the Catamarca Rugby Club, a central location for youth rugby activity in the region. The club, with a long history within the Andean Rugby Union, emphasizes companionship, respect, and discipline as core values, according to its official website.
This training session is part of a broader regional tour, with a follow-up event scheduled in the province of La Rioja, utilizing the same update format. The Andean Union is affiliated with the larger Argentine Rugby Union, and both organizations are committed to the growth of rugby at the grassroots level, as evidenced by the UAR’s national program and the Andean Union’s regional implementation.
The Union Andina de Rugby confirmed the 2025 competition calendar in February, indicating ongoing activity and development within the region’s rugby structure. The fixture includes both a Zona Campeonato tournament and participation in the Regional Centro tournament alongside teams from the Cordoba Union.
