Casey’s Reports 11.4% Revenue Increase in First Quarter
ANKENY, Iowa – Casey’s General Stores today announced strong first-quarter results, reporting total revenue of $4.56 billion, an 11.4% increase compared to $4.09 billion during the same period last year.The convenience store chain,the third largest in the U.S. with 2,895 stores across 19 states, saw significant gains in both same-store sales and fuel volume.
The positive results signal continued momentum for Casey’s as it navigates a competitive market and evolving consumer habits. Increased fuel sales, driven by both competitive pricing and store expansion, alongside growth in grocery, general merchandise, and prepared food sales, contributed to the overall financial performance. Investors and industry observers will be watching closely to see if Casey’s can sustain this growth trajectory throughout the remainder of the fiscal year, particularly as economic conditions remain uncertain.
Total inside same-store sales increased 14.2% to $1.68 billion, up from $1.47 billion a year ago. Grocery and general merchandise same-store sales rose 3.8%, while prepared food and dispensed beverage same-store sales increased 5.6%. Fuel sales reached over 911.7 million gallons, an 18% increase from the 772.5 million gallons sold in the first quarter of the previous year.
During the quarter, Casey’s repurchased approximately $31 million of shares, leaving $264 million remaining under its current share repurchase authorization. The board of directors also approved a quarterly dividend of 57 cents per share, payable November 14 to shareholders of record on November 1.
