Casemiro Urges Caution with Chelsea’s Estevao Following Brazil Performance
Manchester United and Brazil midfielder Casemiro has cautioned against placing excessive pressure on chelsea winger Estevao, following the 18-year-old’s two-goal performance in Brazil’s 5-0 amiable victory over South Korea on friday.
Estevao, who joined Chelsea this summer from Palmeiras, has quickly garnered attention with his performances for both club and country. However, Casemiro believes that heightened expectations could hinder the young player’s development.
“He’s a young player, we can’t put too much pressure on him,” Casemiro stated after the match. “It’s very important to say this, even with him, we have to stress this point. As we certainly no of countless players who you put pressure on and then their performance drops.”
Despite being a regular starter for Chelsea in what Casemiro described as “the moast competitive league in the world,” the experienced midfielder emphasized the need for patience. “You can already see that he’s a great player, you could already see that at Palmeiras. But let’s take it easy with him so as not to rush the football process.”
estevao has started four games for Chelsea since his arrival. Casemiro’s comments echo a cautious approach from Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca, suggesting a purposeful strategy to integrate the young talent gradually.
While acknowledging Estevao’s potential to be a “game-changer,” Casemiro believes allowing him to experience both successes and setbacks is crucial for his long-term growth, noting that he only began playing senior football regularly last year.
