Carter Donates Congressional Salary to Food Bank in Georgia

savannah,GA – ⁣U.S. Representative Earl “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) ⁣has ⁤donated 43 days of⁣ his congressional ⁣salary too Second⁣ Harvest of‌ Coastal Georgia, covering ⁢the duration of the ‍recent​ federal government shutdown.​ The donation⁢ directly supports the ⁣food bankS efforts to combat hunger in the region, particularly‌ as⁣ it‍ assisted families impacted⁣ by disruptions‍ to SNAP, WIC, ​and ‍other government services during the shutdown.

Representative Carter previously requested ​his pay be withheld throughout the shutdown ⁢period,recognizing the hardship faced by federal employees,service members,and families reliant on government assistance programs. Second‍ Harvest of Coastal Georgia stepped up to provide‍ critical support during this time, and Carter’s donation​ will help ⁤sustain⁤ their operations ⁤through ⁤the holiday⁢ season and beyond.
