Carson City Senior Center Hosts November Events Benefiting Meals on Wheels, offering Estate Planning & More
CARSON CITY, NV – The Carson City Senior Center is bustling with activity this November, offering a diverse range of events from a jewelry sale benefiting Meals on Wheels to a free estate planning workshop and a bingo fundraiser.
Throughout the month, residents can support Meals on Wheels thru multiple avenues. A sale of new and gently used jewelry, handbags, wallets, pocket watches, belt buckles, and more will take place in the Senior Center’s main lobby. Additionally,a Sunday Bingo fundraiser kicks off Nov. 9, featuring a progressive cash ball currently at $1,110. Bingo will be held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, with doors opening at 11 a.m. and play starting at 1 p.m. in the Sagebrush Dining Room.
Beyond fundraising, the Senior Center is also providing valuable resources for seniors. A 3-week Estate Planning Workshop led by attorney Caren Jenkins will be held on Thursdays, Nov. 6, 13, and 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Joshua Room. The workshop will cover estate planning overviews, trust funding approaches, and trust governance. The event is free,but RSVP is requested at reception.
Other offerings include a search for euchre players to start a regular game and a chartered bus trip to Reno on Dec. 20 to see a performance of “The nutcracker,” with admission and transportation provided by SB118 from the 84th Legislative Session.
