Carrie Fleming, iZombie and Supernatural Actress, Dies at 51
Carrie Anne Fleming, a Canadian actress known for her roles in the television series Supernatural and iZombie, has died. She was 51.
Fleming passed away on February 26th in Sidney, British Columbia, due to complications related to cancer, according to multiple reports. Born August 16, 1974, in Digby, Nova Scotia, Fleming received her early training at Mount Douglas Senior Secondary and honed her skills at the Kaleidoscope Theatre and Kidco Theatre Dance Company. She began her career as a model before transitioning to acting.
Fleming’s television credits include appearances in Stargate SG-1, The Sentinel, and Smallville. She similarly appeared in films such as Get Carter, Hard Drive, The Cabin, and A Good Day to Die. She became particularly recognized within the science fiction and supernatural genres, notably for her recurring role as Karen Singer, the wife of Bobby Singer, a close friend of the Winchester brothers, in Supernatural. Fleming portrayed Karen Singer in multiple episodes of the long-running series.
Similarly, Fleming held a recurring role as Candy Baker in the five seasons of the zombie-themed comedy-drama iZombie, starring Rose McIver. Her work extended beyond television and film; Fleming was also actively involved in the British Columbia theatre community, with stage performances including roles in productions of Romeo and Juliet, Fame, and Steel Magnolias.
Fleming’s first credited on-screen appearance was an uncredited cameo in Adam Sandler’s 1996 comedy, Happy Gilmore. She continued to work steadily throughout her three-decade career, building a portfolio of nearly fifty film and television roles.
She is survived by her daughter, Madalyn Rose.
