OFFICIAL: Chivas Reinforces Defense with Signing of Carlos Soldati
Guadalajara, Mexico – Chivas de Tapatío has officially announced the signing of 20-year-old defender Carlos Soldati as a new reinforcement for the Expansion League, ahead of the Opening 2025 tournament. The move strengthens the Chivas’ filial teamS defensive line with a player who recently gained experience in Italian football.
Soldati arrives from Cagliari of Serie A, where he competed with the Under-20 team, winning the Italia Spring Coppa. The club highlighted its ongoing effort to identify and recruit young Mexican talent globally. while acquired by Chivas, Querétaro retains 50 percent ownership of the player’s rights.
“As part of the work of detection and monitoring of young Mexican talents in every corner of the world that the club performs permanently, Soldati López arrives from European football, specifically from the cagliari of the Italian Series A, with which he added minutes with the representative Sub 20 and won the Italia Spring Coppa,” the club stated in a press release.
Last semester, soldati played a total of 21 games for Cagliari’s youth squad, scoring one goal and providing one assist, accumulating 1,847 minutes of playing time.
