**Davide Ancelotti**, son of legendary coach **Carlo Ancelotti**, is poised to be announced as the new head coach of Botafogo. This marks his first foray into senior management after years as an assistant.
New Chapter for Ancelotti
**Davide**, 35, reached an agreement with the Brazilian club, inking a contract that extends until December 2026. The younger **Ancelotti** takes the reins after serving as an assistant under his father at several major European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton, and Real Madrid.
**John Textor**, owner of Botafogo, had **Davide Ancelotti** as his primary choice to take over from **Renato Paiva**. The latter resigned from his position on June 30, following Botafogo’s defeat to Palmeiras in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Botafogo Eyes Improvement
Prior to accepting the Botafogo position, **Davide** was reportedly considered for roles at Glasgow Rangers and Serie A’s Pisa. Botafogo currently holds the eighth position in the league, trailing leaders Flamengo by six points. According to a recent report, Botafogo has a 45% chance of qualifying for the Copa Libertadores next season (FootballTransfers.com).
His debut match with the team is potentially Saturday’s game against Vasco da Gama.
