The event underscores the actress’s notable contribution to French ⁣cinema and her lasting impact on popular culture.

Born in ‍Nice, Mercier transitioned from a⁢ career in dance to become a prominent film star during the 1960s. Servat confessed, “Angelique is ⁤the first film that moved me, Michèle is the first ⁢actress I liked.” The exhibition promises ‌a complete⁢ look ⁤at her journey, from ‌her early beginnings to her status as a cinematic icon.

Mercier herself reflected on ⁢her dual connection ⁤to her hometown and adopted‌ city, stating,”I was born with happiness in Nice, and I live with Cannes with the sun for witness. ‌Now today,I go up in grade, and am doubly decorated with elegance.

While her attendance at the November ‍5th opening remains unconfirmed, the city anticipates a surge of interest as it celebrates the life and work of the 86-year-old actress throughout the month.
