Canaries Defeat Fargo-Moorhead 8-2 in Dominant Win

Canaries Secure‌ Win Over RedHawks wiht Explosive⁤ Early Offense

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The ⁢Sioux Falls Canaries defeated the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 8-2 on⁣ Sunday‍ at⁤ the Bird Cage, fueled by a⁢ powerful offensive showing in the early innings.

The Canaries jumped out to a quick lead ‍in the first inning with‍ a two-run double by Peter ⁢Zimmermann.The momentum ⁣continued in the​ bottom of the second as ⁤Trevor Achenbach launched a solo home run. Later in the same ⁤frame, ‍Calvin Estrada blasted a three-run home run, extending ​Sioux Falls’ advantage.

Fargo-Moorhead managed to score a solo home run in the sixth inning,but‍ the Canaries responded with‍ two runs in the bottom⁢ half of the inning. A ‍run scored ​on a double ⁣play, and Estrada added an RBI infield single.

Pitcher Ryan Zimmerman delivered​ a strong performance, pitching seven innings while allowing ​only‍ one run on four hits and​ striking out six batters. Matt Ruiz also contributed considerably to the Canaries’ ⁤offense,‍ recording three‌ hits.

With the win, the ⁣Canaries ​(57-42) have clinched ‍a third-place finish in the west Division. They will conclude their regular ⁤season schedule on ‍Monday at 11:05 a.m.
