Canadiens‘ St-Louis Optimistic About Dach’s Readiness for Season Opener
Montreal Canadiens coach Martin St-Louis expressed encouragement regarding center Kirby Dach’s recovery and potential availability for teh start of the upcoming NHL season. st-Louis revealed he maintained regular dialogue with dach throughout the summer, noting the player’s dedication to rehabilitation.
Dach’s anticipated return is crucial for the Canadiens, as he is projected to fill the role of second-line center.A prolonged absence would considerably impact the team’s depth at the position, with limited internal options readily available. The team’s general manager, Jeff Gorton, indicated the association remains open to exploring potential player acquisitions to bolster the roster.
“He worked hard. He is progressing to be ready for the season. We know what he is capable of, and he did everything this summer to come back to the game. We will see, but I am very encouraged,” St-Louis stated Monday morning.
Gorton added, “We are always open to the idea of being able to add players to our training… We will always try to become a better team, this is where we are in our evolution. We will see what is on the market.”
The Canadiens will continue to assess Dach’s progress as the season approaches, with the possibility of exploring trade options if his recovery is delayed.
