Camélia Jordana: New Hair, Awards & Knighted for the Arts

February 20, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

Camélia Jordana sparked debate this week with a dramatic makeover unveiled on Instagram, just days after presenting an award at the 41st Victoires de la Musique ceremony. The singer and actress, known for her textured hair, showcased a sleek, long brunette style with platinum blonde eyebrows and a bold makeup look, prompting a mixed reaction from her followers.

The transformation, reportedly designed for the music awards display where she presented an award to Theodora, drew praise for its daring aesthetic. Some commenters likened her look to Lady Gaga, while others suggested she was perfectly cast for a biopic of the late singer Barbara. However, the latest style also faced criticism, with some fans expressing a preference for her more natural appearance. Comments ranged from descriptions of the look as “incredible” and “phenomenal” to assertions that she appeared “unrecognizable” and “not at her advantage.”

Jordana first gained public recognition in 2009, appearing on the M6 talent show Nouvelle Star at the age of 16, where she finished in third place. She released her debut album the following year. Beyond music, Jordana has established a successful acting career, winning the César Award for Most Promising Actress in 2018 for her role in Yvan Attal’s film, Le Brio.

This latest recognition comes after Jordana was appointed a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in July 2024 by Minister of Culture Rachida Dati. Jordana acknowledged the honor on Instagram, stating her joy at being a “Chevalière” rather than a “princess,” and expressing gratitude to her ancestors and fellow Franco-Maghrebin artists who paved the way. She also noted her differing political views from Minister Dati.

Jordana’s career has continued to evolve since her initial success. In 2019, she won the Victoires de la Musique award for Album of World Music with her album Lost. She remains active in both music and film, consistently presenting new facets of her artistry to the public.
