Cal Poly Golf: Bobo-Lloret Leads at Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational
NAPA, CA – Cal Poly’s men’s golf team concluded the second round of the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational in sixth place among 14 teams on Monday, at the Silverado Resort North Course. Freshman Rafael Bobo-Lloret currently leads the Mustangs, sitting in 18th position individually.
Bobo-Lloret, named the Big West Golfer of the Month for February, registered a two-under par 70 in the morning round, highlighted by four birdies. He followed that with a 72 in the afternoon, placing him at even par for the tournament. He trails BYU’s Kihei Akina by ten strokes, who leads the competition.
Graduate student Kyle Dougherty and sophomore Nolan Kuszyk are tied for 24th place, both carding a one-under par 143 over the two rounds. Dougherty shot a 70 in the morning and a 73 in the afternoon, although Kuszyk mirrored those scores, accumulating five birdies throughout the day.
Junior Jack Jarvis is one stroke behind in 33rd place, improving his score from a morning 74 to a two-under 70 in the afternoon, also recording three birdies. Senior Sean Lehman and junior Leo Metzger, competing as an independent, are tied for 66th with a seven-over par 151. Lehman had six birdies, and Metzger finished with three.
The Cal Poly team posted a four-under par 284 on Monday, but remains eight strokes behind Santa Clara, who currently holds the fifth-place position. The final round of the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational is scheduled to begin Tuesday morning.
According to a scoreboard update on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, Bobo-Lloret is tied for 22nd place overall.
