Cal PA Softball: Clarion Doubleheader Rescheduled to March 29 | Cal Vulcans Athletics
California University of Pennsylvania (Cal U) has adjusted its softball schedule due to anticipated inclement weather. A doubleheader originally slated for Friday, March 27, against Clarion University has been moved to Sunday, March 29, with a first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
The rescheduling aims to provide optimal playing conditions, according to a university announcement. Cal U will now open its home season on Saturday, March 28, hosting Slippery Rock University at Lilley Field, also at 1 p.m.
The changes approach as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) enters its spring sports season. Slippery Rock University was recently selected to remain at the top of the PSAC West in a preseason poll, indicating a competitive landscape for Cal U as they begin their home schedule.
Fans are encouraged to monitor calvulcans.com and the university’s social media channels for the most up-to-date information regarding spring sports schedules.
The Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) women’s basketball team is also preparing for an all-Pennsylvania matchup in the Elite Eight, though this does not directly impact the Cal U softball schedule. The Great Northwest Athletic Conference is also currently underway with its spring season, but is geographically separate from the PSAC.
